Push notifications are the reason most people install the mobile app. They put time-sensitive Soundcheck events on your lock screen the moment they happen — invitations, crew responses, chat mentions, gig changes.

Enable push notifications

If you tapped Don’t Allow when the app first asked, you can re-enable from your device settings.

iOS

  1. Open SettingsSoundcheck.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Toggle Allow Notifications on.
  4. Choose the alert styles you want: Lock Screen, Notification Center, Banners.

Android

  1. Open SettingsAppsSoundcheck.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Toggle All Soundcheck notifications on.
  4. Optionally configure per-channel behavior (see below).

What you’ll receive

CategoryTrigger
InvitationsSomeone invites you to a gig.
Crew responsesA crew member accepts, declines, or counter-offers an invitation you sent.
Availability requestsAn admin asks for your availability for a date range.
Chat mentionsSomeone @-mentions you in a gig thread or DM.
Gig changesA gig you’re staffed for has been edited (time, venue, status).
RemindersPre-gig reminders for gigs you’re confirmed on.
You can fine-tune which of these you receive in Profile → Notifications inside the app — see the Notifications guide for the per-category toggles, which apply to both push and email.

Notification channels (Android)

Android groups notifications into channels so you can let “Gig changes” buzz but silence “Reminders”:
  1. Long-press a Soundcheck notification.
  2. Tap the gear icon.
  3. Toggle individual categories on/off.
iOS doesn’t expose channels — manage per-category from inside the app.

Silent notifications: troubleshooting

Two common causes:
  • Battery saver / low power mode is suppressing background activity. Add Soundcheck to the unrestricted list on Android, or check the iOS “Background App Refresh” setting.
  • Focus / Do Not Disturb is on. Allow Soundcheck through Focus → Apps.
  1. Confirm notifications are allowed for Soundcheck in your device settings.
  2. Open the app — it must run at least once after sign-in to register for push.
  3. Sign out and back in to re-register the device token.
  4. Check the in-app Notifications settings — if everything is off, you’ll get nothing.
Confirm the mention was actually an @name tag, not just your name typed in plain text. Only structured @ mentions trigger pushes.
That’s expected if all three channels are enabled. Disable email for categories that you already get pushed about — Profile → Notifications.

Privacy

Notification text mirrors what you’d see in the app — names, gig titles, and short message previews. If you’d rather not have those on your lock screen, set Soundcheck’s notification preview to When Unlocked (iOS) or Hide sensitive content (Android).
