Two flavors of chat
| Per-gig threads | Direct messages | |
|---|---|---|
| Members | Everyone staffed on the gig + admins | The two (or more) people you started the DM with |
| History | Persists on the gig page forever | Persists in your DM inbox |
| Mentions | @name notifies that person | @name notifies — but everyone in the DM already sees it |
| Attachments | Photos, PDFs, files | Photos, PDFs, files |
| Visible to admins | Yes (gig threads are part of the gig record) | No (DMs are private to the participants) |
Per-gig threads
Every gig has a dedicated chat thread. Open the gig → Chat tab. Use it for:- Confirming load-in time with the crew.
- Coordinating who’s bringing what gear.
- Quick “I’m 10 min out” check-ins from the road.
- Posting the photo of tonight’s setlist for the back line to see.
Direct messages
DMs are for one-off conversations that don’t belong to a specific gig — checking in with a sub, asking a venue contact a quick question, talking to a sponsor lead. Open the chat icon in the sidebar (web) or the chat tab (mobile) → New message → search for the person.Mentions
Type@ and start typing a name to tag someone. They’ll get a push notification (mobile) and a notification in their Engagements inbox (web). Mentions work in both gig threads and DMs.
Attachments
Drag a file into the message box, or tap the paperclip icon on mobile. Supported types:- Images (JPEG, PNG, HEIC)
- PDFs
- Common document and spreadsheet types
Mobile vs web parity
| Feature | Mobile | Web |
|---|---|---|
| Send and receive messages | Full | Full |
| Mentions | Full | Full |
| Attachments | Full (camera + library) | Full (drag and drop) |
| Search messages | Per-thread | Per-thread + global |
| Mute a thread | Full | Full |
| Push notifications | Native | Web push (optional) |
