Venues are reliably bad at internet. The mobile app is designed to keep working when reception drops between sound check and downbeat.

You stay signed in

The app keeps your session on the device, so losing signal doesn’t sign you out. When you reopen the app underground or backstage, you’re still logged in and can read whatever’s cached — no need to reconnect first.

What works offline

The app caches data you’ve recently loaded and keeps it for about a week. You can keep reading these as long as you opened them at least once while connected:
  • The gig detail for any gig you’ve recently viewed.
  • Your recently loaded gigs list.
  • The setlist attached to a recently viewed gig, plus any chart attachments you’ve already opened.
  • Your organizations and recently loaded invitations.

What needs a connection

  • Accepting or declining a new invitation, or answering an availability check.
  • Sending or receiving chat messages.
  • Loading a gig or setlist you’ve never opened before.
  • Creating or editing content (gigs, setlists, members).
  • Stripe Connect onboarding or any payment action.

When you come back online

The app reconnects automatically and:
  1. Catches up notifications and chat.
  2. Retries any queued actions — for example, an invitation accept you tapped while underground.
  3. Refreshes the gigs list and anything else you open.
If a queued action conflicts with a server-side change (e.g., you tried to accept an invitation that was later revoked), the app will surface a one-time alert explaining what happened.

Known limits

  • The app does not currently download full setlist PDFs in advance. Open each chart PDF once while connected to cache it.
  • Push notifications require a connection to arrive. You’ll get a digest of missed pushes once you reconnect.
  • Stripe Connect flows require a live connection — they will not start offline.
  • Calendar feed subscriptions in Apple Calendar / Google Calendar do not depend on Soundcheck connectivity; they sync independently.

At the venue: a quick checklist

Before downbeat, while you still have signal:
  • Open tonight’s gig in the app (caches the gig detail).
  • Tap into the setlist (caches songs + notes).
  • Open any chart attachments you’ll need on stage (caches each one).
