Key times are the clocks a gig runs on: when the crew is called, when the truck loads in, when doors open, when the show starts and when the room has to be empty. Each gig keeps one time per kind per gig day, in the gig’s time zone.

The kinds

A time after midnight, like a 1:00 AM curfew, stays on the night it belongs to: set it on that day and turn on After midnight.

What your business sees first

Every kind is available to every organization. Your organization type decides which ones the gig page suggests and highlights: Change your organization type in Settings → General.

Setting key times

On the gig’s Details tab, open Key times and choose Add or Edit. The buttons under the list add the featured kinds you have not set yet; Add key time adds any other kind. Saving replaces the gig’s whole set, so a key time you remove is deleted. Gig managers can edit key times; everyone on the gig can see them. Crew see the key times for the selected day at the top of the gig brief in the mobile app, and a change shows in their gig updates.

Times that fill in on their own

Some key times arrive from the places you already keep them. A synced time shows where it came from on the gig page: A sync never changes a key time a person set. Once you edit or add a key time on the gig, that time is yours; a sync only updates the times it wrote. When two sources name the same key time, the first one to set it keeps it. If you delete a synced time, the next sync can add it back.

Run of show sections that follow a key time

A run of show section can follow a key time: open the section’s settings and choose it under Follows key time. The section card then shows Follows Doors (or whichever kind you chose).
  • When the key time changes (on the gig page, by a sync, or through an agent), the section moves to it, and every timed cue in the section moves by the same amount.
  • When you move the section’s start in the run of show, the key time moves with it.
  • A section you newly anchor, or one added from a template, snaps to the gig’s key time. If the gig has no key time of that kind yet, the section’s start becomes it.
  • Imported segments for load in, soundcheck, doors, show and the like follow their key time automatically.
  • Run of show templates keep each section’s anchor, so a venue template’s Doors section follows each gig’s doors.

Copying a gig

Duplicating a gig copies its key times and each section’s anchor.

Moving a gig

Key times stay on the same day of the run when you move a gig: a load in on the first day is still on the first day after a reschedule. If you shorten a gig, key times on the removed days are hidden and come back if you extend it again.

For agents

The event_key_times MCP tool reads a gig’s key times, or replaces them when you pass key_times. The API is GET and PUT /api/v1/events/{event_id}/key-times.
