# Luma

> Import the events you publish on Luma as draft gigs, ready to staff.

Connect your Luma calendar to bring its upcoming events into Soundcheck. Each event you pick becomes a draft gig with its name, date, start and end times, time zone and location. Nobody is invited until you publish the gig.

## Before you start

* You need an **owner or admin** role in Soundcheck.
* You need a Luma calendar on **Luma Plus**. The Luma API is only available on Luma Plus.
* Create an API key for that calendar in Luma. One key connects one calendar.

## Connect Luma

    Go to **Settings → Connections → Integrations** and find the **Luma** tile under **Events**.

    Open the tile, paste the key and select **Connect Luma**. Soundcheck checks the key with Luma before saving it, and the tile then shows your calendar's name.

Your key is encrypted. Soundcheck only shows its last four characters.

## Import events

    Select **Import events**. Soundcheck lists the upcoming events on your Luma calendar.

    Events that aren't in Soundcheck yet are selected for you. Events you already imported show an **Imported** link to their gig.

    Select **Import**. New gigs are saved as drafts. Staff them, then publish when you're ready.

Soundcheck lists up to your 500 soonest upcoming events and says so when there are more. Large selections are imported in batches of 100.

## Importing an event again

Importing an event you already imported updates its gig instead of making a copy. The gig takes the latest name and location from Luma. It keeps its status, so a published gig stays published. A date or time you changed by hand in Soundcheck is not overwritten. If you changed the gig's time zone, its date is worked out in your time zone, not Luma's.

## Disconnect

Turn off the Luma tile's toggle, or open the tile and select **Disconnect**. Soundcheck deletes the stored key. Gigs you already imported stay in Soundcheck.

## Troubleshooting

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| Luma did not accept this API key | Check that you copied the whole key, and that the calendar is on Luma Plus. |
| Luma no longer accepts the saved API key | The key was revoked or expired in Luma. Disconnect, then connect again with a new key. |
| We could not reach Luma | Luma didn't respond. Try again in a minute. |
