# Live page

> Publish one page per gig that guests, vendors and clients open with a short code to follow the schedule and your updates, like tracking a flight.

A gig's **live page** is the one place everyone outside your crew checks for what is happening: guests, vendors, the client, the venue. They open it with an 8-character event code, such as `HRBR-7Q4K`, at `/live`, or with a link that has the code in it. Nobody signs in.

## What the page shows

* **Status.** Whether the gig is upcoming, live, wrapped or cancelled. While it is live, the page shows what is happening now and what is next, worked out from the run of show.
* **Your updates.** How far behind schedule you are running ("Running about 15 min behind schedule") and a short status note ("Doors moved to the east gate"). While you are running late, "now" and "next" follow the delay.
* **When and where.** The date and hours, and the venue with a map link.
* **Schedule.** The run of show sections and items, with their titles, times and locations. If the gig has no run of show, the page lists the guest-facing [key times](https://docs.soundchecklive.io/features/gigs/key-times.md) instead (doors, ceremony, show, set time, curfew).

The page refreshes itself every minute. Times are shown in the venue's time zone.

**What never appears:** notes, cues and instructions on run of show items, items aimed at specific crew positions, sections you hide, context-only sections, and crew-only key times (crew call, load in, soundcheck).

## Publish and update it

Gig managers publish the page from the gig's **Details** tab on the web, or from the **Live page** card on the gig in the app.

* **Publish** gives the gig its code. Copy the link, or share it from the app.
* **Schedule status** sets how late you are running. **On time** clears it.
* **Status note** posts a short message at the top of the page. **Clear** removes it.
* **Run of show on the page** (web) turns individual sections on or off.
* **New code** turns the old code off and issues a new one, for example if a code was shared too widely.
* **Take page down** turns the code off. Publishing again gives a new code.

A draft gig cannot be published; publish the gig first.

## Guest pages

A [guest page](https://docs.soundchecklive.io/features/gigs/guests.md#the-guest-page) is a private link for one party on the guest list. It shows the same live page, with that guest's pass (party size, pass type, RSVP, meal, check-in) above it.

## Codes and privacy

Anyone with the code can see the page, so share it the way you would share a venue address. Codes avoid letters and numbers that are easy to confuse (no 0, O, 1, I or L) and ignore case and dashes. Each network address gets a limited number of wrong codes before it has to wait a few minutes; correct codes never count, so a venue full of guests on one Wi-Fi network is not slowed down.
