# Calendar

> Visualize and manage your schedule with Soundcheck's calendar views

Soundcheck's calendar gives you a visual overview of all your scheduled gigs. See your commitments at a glance and never double-book again.

## Accessing the calendar

The calendar is integrated into the Gigs section:

1. Navigate to **Gigs** in the main menu
2. Toggle between calendar and list views
3. Select your preferred view type

## Calendar views

### Month view

See an entire month at once:

* Each day shows gig indicators
* Click a day to see that day's events
* Color-coded by status
* Navigate between months with arrows

**Best for:**

* Long-term planning
* Identifying busy periods
* Spotting schedule gaps

### Week view

Detailed weekly breakdown:

* Time slots visible for each day
* See gig start and end times
* More detail than month view
* Scroll through hours

**Best for:**

* Detailed scheduling
* Understanding time commitments
* Week-by-week planning

### List view

Chronological event list:

* All gigs in date order
* Shows key details for each
* Easy scanning and searching
* Infinite scroll or pagination

**Best for:**

* Quick reference
* Searching specific events
* Export and printing

## Reading the calendar

### Gig indicators

Each gig appears as a colored block or dot:

| Color             | Meaning          |
| ----------------- | ---------------- |
| **Blue**          | Active gig       |
| **Yellow/Orange** | Draft or pending |
| **Green**         | Completed        |

### Gig information

Hovering or clicking a gig shows:

* Event title
* Start and end time
* Venue name
* Quick status info

### Multiple events

When multiple gigs fall on the same day:

* Month view shows a count or stacked indicators
* Week view shows each event in its time slot
* Click to expand and see all events

## Calendar navigation

### Moving through time

**Month View:**

* Click left/right arrows to change months
* Click "Today" to return to current date
* Click on a date to see that day's details

**Week View:**

* Arrow buttons move week by week
* "Today" returns to current week
* Click dates to see details

### Date selection

Click any date to:

* See all gigs on that date
* Create a new gig on that date
* Access quick actions

## Filtering the calendar

### By organization

If you belong to multiple organizations:

* Use the organization selector
* View all or filter to specific org
* Each organization's gigs appear together

### By status

Filter what you see:

* **All** — Every gig
* **Active** — Only active events
* **Draft** — Events still in planning
* **Completed** — Past events

### By date range

Some views allow date range selection:

* This week
* This month
* Next 30 days
* Custom range

## Creating gigs from calendar

### Quick create

1. Click on any calendar date
2. Select **Create Gig**
3. Date is pre-filled
4. Complete gig details
5. New gig appears on calendar

### Drag to create (if available)

1. Click and drag across time slots
2. Release to create new gig
3. Start and end times pre-filled
4. Complete remaining details

## Calendar best practices

### Check regularly

Make the calendar part of your routine:

* Review weekly at minimum
* Check before committing to new bookings
* Scan upcoming month for preparation needs

### Keep events updated

Accurate calendar = accurate planning:

* Update times when they change
* Mark completed events

### Use status consistently

The calendar is only helpful if statuses are accurate:

* Draft for unconfirmed events
* Active when locked in
* Keep past event details current for reporting

### Note conflicts early

When you spot potential issues:

* Double-bookings
* Back-to-back events with travel time
* Busy periods needing extra preparation

Act immediately to resolve or note concerns.

## Understanding your schedule

### Identifying patterns

Use the calendar to spot:

* Your busiest days of the week
* Seasonal trends
* Recurring booking patterns
* Gaps in your schedule

### Capacity planning

The calendar helps you understand:

* How many gigs you can handle
* When you're overcommitted
* When you have availability to promote

### Travel considerations

When viewing your calendar:

* Note geographic spread of gigs
* Consider travel time between events
* Avoid impossible logistics

### What team members see

Members see gigs they're assigned to:

* Only their relevant events
* Their position and details
* Event information they need

### What admins/owners see

Full calendar access:

* All organization events
* All team assignments
* Complete scheduling picture

## Mobile calendar access

Access your calendar on mobile devices:

* Same views available
* Touch-friendly navigation
* Quick access to gig details
* Useful for on-the-go scheduling

## Integration tips

### Personal calendar sync

Subscribe to your Soundcheck gigs from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook with a private iCal feed.

### Planning workflow

**Weekly planning:**

1. Open Soundcheck calendar
2. Review upcoming week
3. Check all gig details are complete
4. Identify any action items

**Monthly review:**

1. Look at the month view
2. Assess booking pace
3. Plan marketing for quiet periods
4. Ensure preparation time for busy periods

## Troubleshooting

### Event not showing?

* Check the status filter
* Verify the event was saved
* Confirm you're viewing the right organization
* Ensure date/time is correct

### Wrong date displaying?

* Check event date in gig details
* Verify timezone settings
* Edit and correct if needed

### Calendar loading slowly?

* Try a different view
* Clear browser cache
* Check internet connection
