# Getting Started

> Common questions about accounts, organizations, your Home page, Mailbox, and first steps in Soundcheck.

Common questions about creating accounts, joining organizations, and finding your way around Soundcheck.

## What Soundcheck is

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What is Soundcheck?">
    Soundcheck is a live-events management platform for musicians, bands, production companies, venues, and entertainment professionals. It helps you manage gigs, coordinate crews, build setlists, run a booking pipeline, and pay everyone — all in one place. See the [platform tour](/getting-started/overview).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is there a free plan?">
    Yes. The Free plan includes core features like gig management, setlists, and basic team coordination at no cost. [Compare plans](/subscriptions/plans).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I use Soundcheck on my phone?">
    Yes. Soundcheck has [mobile apps for iOS and Android](/features/mobile/installation), plus a responsive web interface that works on any device. **My Mailbox** and your profile are always available on mobile; other surfaces light up based on what your organization has enabled.

## Account creation

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How do I create an account?">
    Visit [app.soundchecklive.io](https://app.soundchecklive.io), tap **Sign up**, choose email + password, Google, or Apple (iOS), and follow the prompts. The sign-up wizard walks you through your identity, your kind of operation, the positions you staff, and inviting your first teammates. See [Signup and organization setup](/getting-started/signup-and-org-setup).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What's the difference between a personal and organization account?">
    When you sign up, you get a personal workspace by default. You can create additional organizations for bands or businesses, and be a member of multiple organizations.
  </Accordion>

## Finding your way around

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What's on my Home page?">
    Signing in lands you on **Home** — a personalized page rather than a one-size-fits-all dashboard. It greets you by name, shows a **Get started** card while you're setting things up, surfaces stat tiles and recent activity, and (for admins with finance access) a finances summary. As you complete setup, the getting-started card gives way to your day-to-day picture.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Where did the Dashboard go?">
    The old Dashboard was retired in favor of the personalized **Home** page. Everything it showed — upcoming gigs, pending items, quick actions — now lives on Home, tailored to your role in the organization.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Where do invitations and requests land?">
    In **My Mailbox** at `/engagements` — one place for gig invitations, crew offers, availability checks, and onboarding steps. Pending items rise to the top, and every notification email links straight back to the matching row. See [Mailbox](/features/engagements/overview).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I just joined an organization — what should I do first?">
    Check **My Mailbox** for onboarding steps and any pending invitations, then fill out your [profile](/features/user-guide/profile): photo, contact info, and the positions you can fill. If you'll be paid through Soundcheck, complete payout setup from your profile so you're payable from your first gig. See [Your first 7 days](/getting-started/first-7-days).
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Joining an organization

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How do I join an existing organization?">
    You'll need an invitation from an organization Owner or Admin. Once invited, you'll receive an email with a link to accept and join. See [Invitations](/organization/invitations).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I switch between organizations?">
    Click the organization name in the navigation to see all organizations you belong to, then select the one you want to switch to.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I was invited but the organization says it's full">
    Organizations have plan-based seat limits. If an admin's invite was blocked at the cap, they'll need to free up a seat or upgrade before you can join — see the [billing FAQ](/faq/billing#seat-limits).
  </Accordion>
