# Venues

> Build a shared venue directory with contacts, specs, ratings, and load-in details — then reuse it on every gig you play there.

<Info>
  Venues live under **Operations → Venues** in the sidebar. They're available on Team and Enterprise plans for organizations with CRM features enabled. If you don't see Venues, [contact support](mailto:support@soundcheck.live).
</Info>

The venue directory is your organization's shared record of every place you work. Save a venue once — its address, contact, stage and logistics specs, and load-in details — and reuse it on every gig you play there instead of re-entering the same information each time. Details you save on the venue automatically flow onto the gigs linked to it.

## Open venues

1. In the sidebar, open **Operations → Venues**.
2. Browse your saved venues, or search to add a new one.
3. Select a saved venue to open its detail page.

Owners, admins, and gig coordinators manage the venue directory.

## Add a venue from Google

When you create a new venue, search for it by name and Soundcheck pulls the details straight from Google.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Search for the venue">
    Start typing the venue's name. Soundcheck searches Google Business listings and shows matching places.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the result">
    Selecting a result auto-fills the **name, address, phone number, website, and photo**, and infers a **venue type** from the place's Google categories.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your own specs">
    Fill in the details Google can't know — capacity, stage size, contacts, house tech, load-in, and access notes — then save.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Linking to Google is optional. If a venue isn't listed, you can still type a name and enter everything by hand. Venues added from Google keep a **record source** badge so your team knows where the details came from.
</Note>

## The venue directory

The directory shows each venue as a card with its photo, type, address, an aggregate rating, and quick counts for capacity, past gigs, and upcoming gigs.

Cards come in two states:

| State               | What it means                                                                                               |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Saved** | The venue is in your organization's directory. Click through to the full detail page and edit it. |
| **Directory match** | A shared venue record that isn't in your directory yet. Click **Save** to add it, then it becomes editable. |

## The venue detail page

Each saved venue has a detail page that gathers everything your team needs in one place. Most fields are edited inline — click a value to change it, and it saves on its own.

### Header and quick stats

The top of the page shows the venue name, type, address, and an aggregate **rating** (a star and average score, with the number of reviews behind it). A row of stats surfaces **capacity, past gigs, upcoming gigs, and the next event date**. Use **Directions** to open the venue in Google Maps.

### Contact

Keep the venue's booking or production contact on file: name, role, phone, email, and website.

### Stage & logistics

Everything a crew needs to plan a load-in:

| Field                       | Use it for                                                           |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Stage size                  | Stage dimensions                                                     |
| Dressing rooms / Green room | Backstage availability |
| Wi-Fi | Network name and password or guest portal |
| House tech | PA, console, lighting, and other in-house gear |
| Load-in / Load-out | Route from the dock to the stage; strike timing |
| Dock / Elevator / Parking | Loading access, freight details, crew and truck parking |
| Access code | Door, gate, or elevator code — **visible only to your organization** |
| Public notes | Details useful for anyone working the venue |

<Info>
  The **load-in and access** fields — access code, dock, load-in, load-out, elevator, and parking — are the ones that auto-fill onto every gig at this venue. Enter them once here and your crews see them on each show. See [Link a venue to a gig](#link-a-venue-to-a-gig).
</Info>

### Amenities and restrictions

Tag the venue with **amenities** (parking, catering, loading dock) and **restrictions** (curfew, decibel limit, no pyro) so they're visible at a glance and searchable across your directory.

### Private to your org

Some details should stay with your team, not the shared venue profile:

* **Private status** — a working label such as *preferred*, *backup*, or *avoid*.
* **Private notes** — contact preferences, settlement notes, anything internal.
* **Record sources** — where this venue's data came from (Google or another connected system, or *Manual record*).

### Linked customers and related gigs

The detail page lists **customers** associated with the venue and the **gigs** linked to it, so you can jump straight from a venue to the events you've booked there.

<Note>
  **Removing** a venue takes it out of your organization's directory only. The shared venue record and any linked gigs stay intact, and you can save the venue again later.
</Note>

## Link a venue to a gig

The gig's **Venue** tab connects a saved venue to a specific event. (This tab replaces the old *Resources* tab — older links to `resources` now open the Venue tab.)

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the gig's Venue tab">
    On a gig, select **Venue**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link a saved venue">
    Choose a venue from your directory. The gig now shows the venue on a map, along with its contact and specs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review load-in & access">
    The six shared load-in and access fields flow in from the venue record automatically — your crew sees them without anyone re-typing.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Per-show overrides

The venue record is the default, but each show can differ. On the gig's Venue tab you can:

* **Override a load-in or access field for this show only.** The override sits on the gig; the shared venue record is untouched. The card shows an **override count** badge so everyone knows some details differ from the norm.
* **Add "this show only" notes.** A blocked dock, an alternate entrance, anything crew should know tonight. Notes live on the gig and can point at a specific field to flag that it's changed for this event.

<Info>
  Load-in details, access, and show notes are visible to everyone working the gig — even crew who can't edit the venue directory — so the people on the ground always have what they need.
