# Inventory

> Track reusable gear, assign it to gigs, and see what's out and what's available — from the directory or right on the gig.

<Info>
  Inventory lives under **Operations → Inventory** in the sidebar. It's available on Team and Enterprise plans for organizations with CRM features enabled. If you don't see Inventory, [contact support](mailto:support@soundcheck.live).
</Info>

Inventory tracks the reusable things your organization sends to events — instruments, backline, production gear, merch kits, signage, or sponsor-provided assets. Keep one shared list, assign items to gigs, and always know how many are free for the next show.

## Open inventory

1. In the sidebar, open **Operations → Inventory**.
2. Search or filter items.
3. Select an item to view or edit it.

Owners, admins, and gig coordinators manage inventory.

## Inventory records

Each item carries:

* Name and description
* Category or type
* Availability status and condition notes
* Location notes
* Its current assignments and available quantity

The **available quantity** is what's not currently out on a gig, so you can see at a glance whether an item is free to assign.

## The gig Inventory tab

Every gig has its own **Inventory** tab showing exactly what's assigned or checked out to that event — so a coordinator planning a show sees the gear for it without scrolling the whole directory.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the gig's Inventory tab">
    On a gig, select **Inventory**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign an item">
    Pick an item, set a quantity, and (optionally) a due date, then **Assign Inventory**. Items with nothing available are shown but can't be selected.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Return it when it comes back">
    When the gear returns, use **Return** on the assignment. It frees the quantity back up for the next gig.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Each assignment on the gig shows the item name, quantity, its status, and a due date if you set one. Use **All Inventory** to jump to the full directory.

<Warning>
  Mark returns promptly. An assignment left open keeps that quantity looking unavailable, so coordinators can't tell whether an item is free for the next show.
</Warning>
